Pictures from the Pen… a Gift of Nature
I woke up this morning
with a passion on my mind,
a winding path to wander
the call of the dawn to find,
the night had strangled dreams,
darkness muted my song,
time for spirited ways
to pull my soul along.
David Elliott has been writing poetry on and off for 40 years. He doesn’t write to order but draws his inspiration from a sensitive awareness of the creative universe.
He is a naturalist who believes that his love of nature and of music are instruments that ‘drive his pen to paint pictures with words’.
David’s expressive and often poignant poetry evokes feelings of sorrow and longing, of joy and delight, and always of hope.
